Hi, my name is Jonathan Rooney. I am proudly from the Pacific NorthWest, and am currently settled with my wife in Columbus, OH. I’ve always loved my home state of Washington, and my PNW roots influence everything I do. I love exploring the great outdoors, I enjoy designing with an outdoorsman aesthetic, and I have a special appreciation for vintage and western graphics.
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always scribbled on whatever I could get my hands on. Doodles would show up everywhere from my homework, church notes, to the actual table top. I’ve always had a knack for illustration, and actually love incorporating hand drawn designs in whatever opportunity I get. From this young age, I always knew that my dream was to create. I currently specialize in motion, branding, and illustration.
When I'm not designing, you can usually find me outside. I enjoy hiking, camping, fishing, and I’m usually snapping film photos during each adventure. My wife and I love to travel, and we’re slowly checking off National Parks from the bucket list.
I aspire to be a designer with Western Grit. This means that I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty in the design process. My promise as a design professional is to go off the beaten path to discover new ideas, and I am fully committed to exceeding expectations - even if that means I have to throw a little elbow grease in the process. Western Grit also represents my aesthetic of work. I enjoy the natural, rugged, and genuine style of my backwoods western roots.
